In general, over the month, food prices rose by 0.6%, according to the report.

Prices of fruit grew by 2.7% this week after rising by 2.2% last week due to reduced supply.

In addition, pasta (0.4%), flour and cereals (0.5%), fish (1.3%), milk (0.7%) and confectionery (0.9%) increased in price. Tobacco products, products to maintain cleanliness and personal care products rose in price by 0.3%, 0.8% and 0.1%, respectively.

At the same time, prices for vegetables (0.4%), sugar (0.2%) as well as oil and fats (0.1%) decreased.

The NBU said that drug prices were falling under the influence of market factors, in particular, a stable situation in the foreign exchange market.

Fuel prices continued to remain stable after falling in the previous month, while automobile gas prices rose due to weakening lockdown and growing population activity.

According to the document, the growth in demand and the volume of electricity production indicates the restoration of economic activity.

“The situation on global markets is improving, and risk appetite for investors is gradually recovering amid reopening after lockdown in a number of countries,” the regulator said.

It is also reported that the activity of the population on the labor market has been growing for the third week in a row, in particular, the number of new vacancies in all areas is increasing, which indicates the restoration of economic activity amid easing restrictions.
