The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has prolonged the term of a pretrial investigation into the case on the murder of journalist Pavlo Sheremet until April 2020, Hromadske.ua reports.

“The prosecutor explained that it is too soon to make any decisions on sending indictments to court or closing the case. He said that it is necessary to hold additional investigative procedures and forensic studies, in particular experiments and questionings,” reads the report.

Earlier, the investigators asked the court to prolong the pre-trial investigation to six months, until June 2020. The defense lawyers, in turn, said that three and a half years was enough to carry out all necessary investigative procedures.
