Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko has said he expects a Normandy-format summit of Ukraine, Germany, France, and Russia to take place in November.

“I think Ukraine will make sure that the [Normandy] forum is held in the format we want. We hope that will happen next month. It [the meeting] has been repeatedly delayed for technical reasons, but you can see how difficult things are. […] We are doing our best to make this meeting happen,” Prystaiko told the press in Mariupol on Oct. 29.

Prystaiko gave a negative answer to the question of whether he had an altercation with Ukrainian presidential aide Andriy Yermak.

“The Normandy format will exist, but I’d rather not choose between the Normandy format and sanctions. The actual point we are making is that we should reconsider the idea of a peacekeeping mission if we fail to succeed on the Minsk track. What I mean is a third party will be necessary, one which can bring peace [to Donbas],” Prystaiko said.
