On May 26, a Qatar Airways special flight delivered humanitarian aid from the State of Qatar to Ukraine to support Ukraine in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

“The cargo weighing almost nine tonnes contains personal protective equipment for medical workers, in particular medical gowns, goggles, masks, respirators, gloves, face shields and overalls,” the Foreign Ministry’s website said on May 26.

It is noted that the humanitarian aid provided is the result of the agreements reached between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, along with Qatar’s ambassador to Ukraine Hadi bin Nasser Al Hajri, met humanitarian aid at the airport.

“Ukraine highly appreciates the decision of the Emir of the State of Qatar and will always remember this manifestation of friendship. Our bilateral relations have great potential, which we are set to fully realize for the benefit of our peoples,” the Foreign Ministry quoted Kuleba as saying.
