Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov received a letter from MP, leader of the Servant of the People faction David Arakhamia with a proposal to resign the chairman signed by 175 MPs on ten signature lists.

“The collective proposal was signed by 175 MPs of Ukraine, it is submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in accordance with the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine under a proposal to recall Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov. Signature lists are attached to this letter,” according to the letter, a photocopy of which Razumkov posted on his Telegram channel on October 4.

The chairman reminded Arakhamia that the Accounting Chamber must first check the subscription lists, and only then the procedure for recalling the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada from the office will be launched. “As long as I am the chairman of parliament, the law will work here! And consideration of the initiative to recall the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from office is no exception. The procedure will take place clearly according to the rules,” Razumkov said.

He denied information that the initiative to recall the chairman could be considered as early as Tuesday or Wednesday and recalled procedural requirements. “As soon as the documents signed by the MPs under the proposal to revoke are received in the Parliamentary Office, the relevant procedure will be launched. It lasts no more than ten days. During this time, the report of the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada is being prepared, as well as the report of the Accounting Chamber on the implementation of the parliamentary budget for the current year. All materials are provided to the MPs two days before the review is considered in the session hall. And then the Verkhovna Rada will be determined by voting: if the proposal gets 226 votes, there will be a new chairman of parliament, if not, we will continue to work,” Razumkov said.

According to the calendar plan of the sixth session of the Verkhovna Rada of the ninth convocation, the plenary sessions of the parliament will be held from October 5 to October 8 and October 19 to October 22.
