You're reading: Rada unblocks signing of banking bill needed for new program with IMF

The Verkhovna Rada has not supported draft resolutions on the abolition of voting on the draft law on banking activities necessary to approve a new program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to a correspondent of the Interfax-Ukraine agency, 78 parliamentarians voted for draft resolution No. 2571-d-P, and 74 parliamentarians voted for draft resolution No. 2571-d-P1.

According to the rules of work of the parliament, the speaker of the parliament cannot sign the bill until the MPs consider and reject the draft resolutions on canceling the voting results.

As reported, the Verkhovna Rada on May 13 at second reading and as a whole adopted the bill amending the legislative acts of Ukraine on improving banking regulation mechanisms (No. 2571-d), which is necessary to conclude a new program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
