Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution on holding the spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Kyiv in the period from May 22 to 25, 2020.

Resolution No. 10091 was supported by 235 Members of Parliament at a plenary session on April 25, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has said.

An organizing committee will be created to prepare and hold the NATO Parliamentary Assembly event; the committee will be headed by the parliament’s speaker, the resolution says.

The organizing committee must, within two weeks, approve a plan of activities for preparing the session.

Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers should decide on the participation of the relevant ministries and other central executive agencies in this event by the same deadline.

The preamble to the resolution states that the Ukrainian parliament takes its decision in connection with a mutually agreed agreement between the Verkhovna Rada and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
