Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov has called on MPs from the Servant of the People faction to observe the regulations and the Constitution of Ukraine when initiating his recall from his post.

“I see information in the media that voting can take place on Tuesday, Wednesday. I would like to remind everyone that we live with you according to the regulations. The procedure, including the recall from the post of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, is carried out according to the regulations, according to Articles 76 and 77. Otherwise, it will not happen. As long as I am the head of the Verkhovna Rada, the law will work here. Then we’ll see what will happen. Let’s see, we can do as it was the Thursday before last. But the regulations and the Constitution will work within the walls of the Verkhovna Rada so far, and I hope, outside its borders as well,” Razumkov said at a meeting of the conciliation council on Oct. 4.

At the same time, he stressed that the corresponding signature sheets were issued at the request of the Servant of the People faction first, and then MP David Arakhamia’s “on the same day”: “As many as two packages, so that everyone has enough to fill out, so that for sure …”

In addition, the speaker commented on the statements of some representatives of the mono-majority about the alleged “cold routine war.”

“We really have a war going on with you, not the first month, not the first year – this is a war for the rule of law, democracy, freedom of speech, European principles and values for which all of you and I were elected by people. And this is a war for our territorial integrity, and against occupation, usurpation, this is a war that is taking place in the east, and thanks to the loyalty of the Ukrainian army, today we can make reforms here and implement them. But for many, speaking and declaring is one thing, and doing is another. Time will sort everything out in the end,” Razumkov noted.

As reported, the Servant of the People parliamentary faction collected 150 necessary signatures for initiating the recall of Dmytro Razumkov from the post of chairman of the Verkhovna Rada. The collection of signatures took place at a meeting of the faction in Truskavets on Oct. 2.

A source of the Interfax-Ukraine agency reported that the Servant of the People parliamentary faction is considering Stefanchuk as the only candidate for the post of speaker of parliament in the event that Razumkov resigns from this post.
