The Ukrainian people will not support changes to the country’s territorial integrity, while the bill “On popular rule by means of an All-Ukrainian referendum” does not mean an attempt to grant special status to Donbas through such a vote, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov said.

“No, it doesn’t mean that […] Changes to the state’s territorial integrity are unlikely to be considered, let alone adopted by the Ukrainian people, because we, as a state, have given a great deal for Ukraine’s territory, which isn’t under the control of the Ukrainian authorities for now,” Razumkov said at a press briefing in Mukachevo in Zakarpattia region on June 11 in response to the relevant question.

Razumkov is currently visiting Zakarpattia region.

According to earlier reports, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has registered a bill entitled “On popular rule by means of an All-Ukrainian referendum” in the country’s parliament.
