Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov has resigned as head of the Servant of the People Party.

Razumkov’s decision on the resignation as the party leader was supported by the participants in the party congress, which was held in Kyiv on Sunday.

As reported, Razumkov, who was advisor to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on political issues and speaker of his election headquarters, headed the Servant of the People Party in May 2019. Before him, the party had been headed by Ivan Bakanov, who was appointed the first deputy head of the SBU, the head of the main anti-corruption and organized crime department of the central department of the SBU by Zelensky’s decree on May 22, and later became the head of the SBU.

On August 29, Razumkov was elected chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation, after which he repeatedly stated about his intentions to resign as head of the party at its nearest congress.
