You're reading: Red Cross allocates more than Hr 1 billion to victims of Donbas war

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has provided assistance to victims of the conflict in Donbas for a total amount of more than Hr 1 billion.

“Over the period from 2014 to Dec. 31, 2018, the ICRC provided humanitarian support to victims of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine and other vulnerable groups of the population in the total amount of Hr 1.051 billion, including medical institutions – in the amount of Hr 109.9 million,” the ICRC Acting President in Ukraine Mykola Polishchuk told a press conference in Kyiv on Feb. 8.

In addition, in 2018, more than 18,000 people received free medicines from the ICRC medical teams in accordance with doctor’s prescriptions.
