Ukraine and Belarus will develop interstate cooperation, in particular, in engineering and agricultural machinery building, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Building and Housing Hennadiy Zubko said after the 25th meeting of the Ukrainian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, the press service of the deputy prime minister has reported.

“We have decided to continue organization of joint Belarus tractor and Gomselmash grain harvester assembly facilities in Belarus and Ukraine, production of trucks and mutual supplies of freight wagons, spare parts to them and other heavy engineering products,” Zubko said.

It was arranged to cooperate in agriculture, railway transportation and water transportation on the Kyivska hydroelectric power plan – Nizhniye Zhary section.

“Ukraine will support a proposal of Belarus to add the section of Dnipro River [estuary of Pripiat River- Nizhniye Zhary] to the international water ways network of E category as a branch of the E-40 water way when the issue is discussed by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE),” the minister said.

The sides arranged to prepare and implement new large-scale projects under the Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020 border cooperation program and promote joint projects to modernize checkpoints on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border under the Eastern Partnership initiative of the European Union (EU).
