You're reading: Regional Development Ministry to restrict building minimum height

The Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Ministry of Ukraine would introduce the “blue line” notion for restricting building minimum height for areas, Deputy Minister Lev Partskhaladze wrote on his Facebook page.

“In Ukraine, there are still no requirements for limiting the building minimum height for development of territories. We are now changing it, updating the important town-planning public construction requirements for planning and building the territories. In particular, we introduce the “blue line” notion that will regulate the restriction of building height in settlements,” Partskhaladze said.

According to him, the new public construction requirements will help to resolve the issue of high-rise buildings and harmonize the urban space. He said that in the existing requirements only “red lines”, which outline public lands intended for laying communications and utility networks and harmonizing streets, are indicated.

According to the deputy minister, the Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Ministry will introduce the new notion to the public construction requirement “Planning and Development of Territories”, drawn up to replacer public construction requirement 360-92 “Urban Planning: Planning and Building of Urban and Rural Settlements.”

“It [the public construction requirement] has already received all the approvals,” Partskhaladze said.
