The Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, together with partners, plans to build a gas pipeline on the territory of Schastia district of Luhansk region until 2023.
According to the ministry’s press service, representatives of the Reintegration Ministry, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Luhansk Regional State Administration, Ukrgazvydobuvannia and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine held a working meeting on the construction of the gas pipeline in Schastia district of Luhansk region.
In particular, the routes for the construction of the gas pipeline were discussed and further action plans for the implementation of an investment project were determined. It was determined that the optimal construction route is 27.5 km, of which 1.5 km passes through the territory of Luhansk Natural Reserve of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Triokhizbenka Steppe.
“To resolve this issue, it was proposed to consider two options: to move the border of the nature reserve by 25 m wide and 1.5 km in length, or to move the border of the settlement near which the construction is taking place,” the message says.
It is noted that the gas pipeline will be able to provide natural gas supplies to other settlements of Luhansk region.
The project implementation period is until 2023, the investment amount is approximately Hr 410.5 million with a payback period of seven years.
It may be recalled that as a result of the temporary occupation of a part of Luhansk region, the gas pipeline ended up on the territory not controlled by the government of Ukraine.
To restore the production of the Lobachi field and the possibility of supplying natural gas to the residents of the settlements of Kriakivka and Triokhizbenka in Schastia district of Ukrgazvydobuvannia, where the said field is being developed, the investment project for the construction of the gas pipeline was initiated.
