Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Andriy Reva believes that the policy of encouraging the growth of wages in Ukraine will lead to the increase in the average wage to Hr 19,000 within four years.

“Today our workers in Poland earn an average of Hr 19,200 … If we provide the policy of encouraging wage growth in our country, then we will be able in three or four years to reach the level of wages that has been voiced,” Reva said during the “Freedom of Speech” talk show.

He also noted that in December the average wage in Ukraine is expected to grow to Hr 10,000.

“The policy of wage restraint, which has been conducted in our country for more than 20 years, has led to Ukraine being among the European countries in almost the last place in terms of wages,” Reva said.

According to him, it’s not worth expecting an increase in wages in Poland in the near future.

“Today the number of vacancies for Ukrainian workers in Poland is decreasing. And after negotiations with my Polish counterpart I would not say that a serious increase in wages will be there in the near future,” the minister said.
