Activists for transgender rights were forced to disband a demonstration in Kyiv on Nov. 18 after counterdemonstrators assaulted several protesters and attacked a Canadian journalist trying to cover the event.

People react after the activists of far-right groups attack with smoke bomb participants of the march of transgender people in Kyiv on Nov. 18, 2018. Two activists were attacked with pepper-spray in Ukraine's capital on Nov. 18, as the transgender rights march was interrupted by dozens of radicals. Some few tens transgender people were trying to organized the march to honor the memory of those who died because of transphobia, hate and the prejudices and to mark International Day of Transgender People. As well they were going to demands related the rights of transgender people in Ukraine.
