You're reading: Roadmap for implementing Minsk Agreements may be initialed by 2018

Parties to the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine expect to produce a roadmap for implementing the Minsk Agreements before the end of this year, a source in the group organizing the negotiations told Interfax.

“The work on this roadmap has practically been finalized. The sides have made progress on the majority of the provisions of the document, which is likely to be initialled before the yearend,” the source said.

There are still a number of disagreements to tackle, the source said.

“This is about the mechanism linking security issues to political dimensions of the settlement process. The sides have been unable to reach consensus on the order these problems should be settled in. Some insist it should be done simultaneously, others one-by-one,” the source said.

Parties to the Normandy-format negotiations have repeatedly called for elaborating a roadmap for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements.
