A branch of Ukraine’s state-owned Oschadbank, was attacked in Kyiv in the early hours of Nov. 30, police reported.

Unknown persons blew up an ATM machine inside the bank’s office on Entuziastiv Street in Kyiv’s Dniprovskyi District and, reportedly, got away with cash.

The police stated that they did not yet know the amount of money stolen and all the circumstances of the explosion. No people were injured, according to the police.

The explosion damaged an ATM, the door, and completely ruined the windows of the bank. Police reported that some gas-air explosive mixture was used for the explosion.

Following the incident, the scene was isolated and the police opened a criminal probe, categorizing the case as “deliberate destruction of property that caused large-scale damage.”

Oshchadbank is the second-largest Ukrainian bank by assets and the largest bank by the number of branches.
