Russia-controlled Simferopol-based Kyivsky district court has started hearings to select a preventive measure for Crimean Tatars detained on March 27 and two of them have already been arrested until May 15, Human Rights Commissioner of Ukraine’s parliament Liudmyla Denisova has said.
“There are first decisions of the so-called court: Tofig Abdulgaziyev and Rustem Sheykhaliyev have been arrested until May 15, 2019,” she wrote on Facebook on March 27 evening.
In this regard, the Ukrainian ombudsman wrote: “The Russian Federation continues victimizing the citizens of Ukraine, the Crimean Tatars, and organizes demonstration trials.”
As reported, Russian security forces in Simferopol in Russia-occupied Crimea conducted raids on the houses of the Crimean Tatars on March 27. The FSB reported about the arrest of 20 people.
