Russia-led separatists violated the ceasefire 11 times in Donbas, injuring 10 Ukrainian soldiers, five seriously, the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) headquarters has said.

“On January 16, the Russian-led forces violated the cease-fire 11 times … injuring Ukrainian five soldiers, five seriously,” JFO HQ said.

Russia-led forces fired an anti-tank guided missile near Troyitske and from grenade launchers near Krymske. Ukrainian positions near Chermalyk were fired on from grenade launchers and 82-mm mortars. Small arms fire was reported near Avdiyivka, Maryinka and Krasnohorivka.

JFO headquarters said Ukrainian troops returned fire, killing 16 Russia-led separatists.

“Since midnight, Kremlin-backed forces have not opened fire. The Ukrainian military continues to control separatists on the contact line, while respecting the conditions of a complete cease-fire,” JFO HQ said.
