The restriction by the Russian Federation of supplies of liquefied gas to the level of 30% in November, most likely, will not have an impact on the Ukrainian market, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Utility Services Andriy Gerus has said.

“The Russian Federation has limited for November the supply of liquefied gas to Ukraine to the level of 30% of the volumes declared by exporters,” he wrote on his Telegram channel on Nov. 4.

At the same time, Gerus noted that such a restriction in November should not have a significant impact on the Ukrainian market.

“Firstly, exporters traditionally overestimated the declared volumes of supplies. Secondly, in November there was low activity in such gas purchases,” the head of the committee explained.

According to the State Customs Service, in October the value of imports of liquefied gas (propane and butane) rose to $97.31 million versus $54.48 million in October 2020 and $87.57 million in September 2021, including propane – respectively $58.31 million, $37.06 million and $54.03 million. Imports from Russia last month amounted to $32.58 million compared to $22.1 million in October 2020 and $38.75 million in September 2021, including propane, respectively $18.5 million, $17.16 million and $22.85 million.
