You're reading: Russia places leading Ukrainian businessmen, their businesses on sanctions list (UPDATED)

Russia has included leading Ukrainian businessmen and their businesses in the list of persons against whom special economic measures are imposed.

Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Andriy Kobolev is one of them. Others include president and majority shareholder of Galnaftogaz Concern (including the OKKO filling station network) Vitaliy Antonov, co-owner of the Continuum group of companies (including the WOG filling station network) Stepan Ivakhiv and the owner of the large private gas producing group Burisma, Mykola Zlochevsky.

The following managers of large Ukrainian companies were placed on the list: CEO of Metinvest Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of Smart-Holding Oleksiy Pertin, CEO of StarLightMedia Volodymyr Borodiansky, CEO of SCM Oleh Popov and CEO of 112 Ukraine TV Yehor Benkendorf.

The list also includes the acting head of the parliamentary committee on fuel and energy complex Oleksandr Dombrovsky, and businessman Konstantin Grigorishin (Energy Standard Group).

It contains the largest shareholder of Ferrexpo, Ukrainian businessman Kostiantyn Zhevaho, ultimate owner of Interpipe Limited Victor Pinchuk, Oleksandr Yaroslavsky (DCH group of companies), Andriy Verevsky (Kernel), and Yuriy Kosiuk (MHP).

The list has Vitaliy Antonov (OKKO), Oleksiy Vadatursky (Nibulon), Oleksandr Hereha (Epicenter and Nova Linia), Filia Zhebrovska (Farmak), Hlib Zahoriy (Darnitsa), Stepan Ivakhiv (WOG), Volodymyr Kostelman (Fozzy Food), Roman Chihir (Fozzy Group), Oleh Sotnikov (Fozzy Group), Leonid Yurushev (Unibudinvest), Roman Matsola (First Private Brewery), and Pavlo Fuks (Ukrrosleasing).

The list also includes Victor Pinchuk and his EastOne Group Ltd.

Absentees from the list of sanctioned individuals include Dmytro Firtash and Ihor Kolomoisky. However, Firtash’ fertilizer companies PJSC Azot (Cherkasy), PrJSC Rivneazot, PrJSC UkrAgro NPK (distribution of mineral fertilizers), and Kolomoisky’s PJSC Dniproazot have been sanctioned.
