You're reading: Russian-backed separatists hand over 4 captives to Ukraine in Minsk

The self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic” (“DPR”) and “Luhansk People’s Republic” (“LPR”) transferred four captives to Ukraine in Minsk on Friday, an Interfax correspondent has reported.

The captives arrived in the Minsk International Airport on Friday. They will depart for Ukraine in the company of Opposition Platform – For Life Political Council head Viktor Medvedchuk.

The released captives are serviceman Dmytro Velyky, Ukrainian army unit commander Yakiv Veremeichyk, First Sgt. Maksym Horiayinov, and Eduard Mikheyev.
