Leader of the Movement of New Forces Party, ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has said he wants to avoid confrontation.
“We do not need any confrontation, I do not call for any harsh actions,” Saakashvili said on Dec. 11 in the courtroom of Kyiv’s Pechersky District Court, where hearings are to begin to select a measure of restraint for him.
“I’m not afraid … I consider myself a prisoner of the Ukrainian oligarchy,” he added.
According to him, the whole world community is watching this process.
Saakashvili and his supporters, who gathered in the courtroom, performed the national anthem of Ukraine.
Saakashvili’s wife, Sandra Roelofs, is also present.
At the same time, a significant number of media representatives were unable to get either in the courtroom, or the court building itself.
