The Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) will appeal the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court on the refusal to choose a measure of restraint for former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych due to violation of the conditions of the pretrial investigation.

According to the SAPO press service, the prosecutor does not agree with such a court decision and will appeal it.

“The consideration of the appeal will be announced additionally,” the agency said.

As reported, on Oct. 26, HACC refused to grant the NABU detective’s motion, agreed by the SAPO prosecutor, to apply a preventive measure in the form of keeping Yanukovych in custody, suspected of illegally taking over the state residence of Mezhyhirya.
