The Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) has summoned fifth president of Ukraine and MP Petro Poroshenko for questioning as a witness in two criminal cases (illegal transfer of the collection of paintings across the state border and illegal use of the technical means of obtaining the information) on May 29, the SBI reported.
“In connection with the failure to appear on May 26, 2020, in accordance with the requirements of Articles 133, 135 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, Poroshenko P.O. is again called to the State Bureau of Investigations for questioning as a witness at 11 a.m. on May 29, 2020 in criminal proceeding No. 42020000000000307, to look into the circumstances of transfer across the state border of Ukraine of a collection of cultural property, which consists of 43 paintings by world famous artists,” reads the agenda posted on the SBI website on May 27 evening.
Moreover, Poroshenko was summoned to the SBI at 12 p.m. on May 29 for questioning as a witness in criminal proceeding No. 62020000000000456 on “the fact of the possible illegal use of special technical means of obtaining information that could cause substantial harm to state interests.”
The SBI stressed that “appearance is compulsory.”
