A resident of the city of Kropyvnytsky tried to establish regular dispatch of protective medical masks to the countries of North America and the European Union, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said on April 28.
“He looked for his clients on the internet and offered them delivery by international mail. In the mail declarations, the dealer indicated untrue information regarding the sender and the contents of the parcels. SBU employees documented three attempts to send anti-epidemic products abroad by the person involved,” it said.
When examining the next parcel, law enforcement officers discovered 3,000 medical masks that the man planned to sell for $3,000. According to the SBU, he planned to send more than 10,000 personal protective equipment abroad that are used to combat the spread of coronavirus.
Currently, the State Fiscal Service is deciding on the seizure of a batch of protective means and bringing the person to administrative responsibility.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced a ban on the export of personal protective equipment of domestic production until June 6. The ban is introduced for more than 400 Ukrainian manufacturers of personal protective equipment.
