Nataliya Kaplan, sister of the Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, convicted by the Russian court for political reasons, has called for refraining from disseminating information about the possible release of her brother before he departs Russia.

“Even if you really learned that Oleg is being released, you should not give out any information until he leaves Russia. Such premature information, even being true, can harm situations. “We all see how unstable everything is in the realm of stability,” she wrote on her Facebook page on August 12 afternoon.

Misleading information about Sentsov’s release on August 11 was published on the Facebook page of Russian journalist Viktoria Ivleva that Oleg had been released and was being flown to Ukraine.
