The Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the ceasefire in Donbas (JCCC) has reported that Russia-backed separatists were firing at residential areas along the disengagement line in Donetsk region, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said.
“The situation has escalated in the vicinity of the town of Avdiyivka. Two 120 mm caliber mines, twenty-two 82 mm caliber mines, as well as anti-tank tank grenade launchers and all types of small arms were used by the separatists on April 17, which is a grave violation of the Minsk accords,” the statement on the ministry’s website reads.
According to the report, as a result of the shelling, at least six apartment buildings in Turgenev Street in Avdiyivka were damaged, the roof of one of the buildings was destroyed.
