An activist of the Party of Shariy has been attacked in Kharkiv on June 25, at night.
“Last night. In Kharkiv. Assaulted with bats on his head… The guy had led a column [during a rally] in Kyiv… It is a miracle that he survived. The doctors are fighting for his life,” the leader of the party, Anatoliy Shariy, said on his Telegram channel.
The media liaison department of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region reported that the incident was reported to Kyivsky Police Department at around 01:53 by an operator of the 102 emergency hotline.
“According to the preliminary information, two unidentified persons attacked a 28-year-old man on Vesnina Street and caused bodily harm to him… The victim has been hospitalized,” it said.
A criminal case has been opened on the incident under Part 2 of Article 296 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The media liaison department also confirmed the fact that the victim had called the police with a report about National Corps representatives threatening him several hours before the attack.
