Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis discussed the expansion of economic cooperation between the countries.

“Kyriakos Mitsotakis thanked the government and the President of Ukraine for sending 100 Ukrainian firefighters to help Greek colleagues. The head of the Greek government stressed that, given the significant experience of Ukrainian firefighters, he will initiate cooperation at the level of the rescue services of the two countries,” the government reported after a telephone conversation between the prime ministers.

During the conversation, the parties also discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, and investment spheres.

“I believe that our countries have significant potential for the development of trade and economic cooperation, in particular in the areas of agriculture, IT, tourism, space industry, and shipbuilding. I am sure that by joint efforts we can strengthen the dynamics of our trade. This, in particular, will be facilitated by holding a next meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Greek joint working group on economic, industrial and scientific-technical cooperation,” Shmyhal said.

He also stressed that Ukraine highly appreciates Greece’s support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“I am convinced that your visit to Ukraine at the invitation of the President of Ukraine to the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform and to celebrations of the Independence Day of Ukraine will contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between our states,” the head of the Ukrainian government said.
