Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal instructed the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Ministry of Finance to work out the issue of increasing the subvention by Hr 282 million to provide housing for displaced veterans, the governmental press service said.

“The government should provide housing for ATO/JFO veterans who are internally displaced persons. Now there are about 3,000 people in the country who defended Ukraine and were left homeless as a result of the armed Russian aggression. It is necessary to gradually resolve this issue. This year, they must provide their own housing for at least 400 veteran displaced persons,” Shmyhal said.

The prime minister instructed the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Ministry of Finance to work out the issue of increasing by Hr 282 million of expenditures in the national budget under the program “Subvention from the national budget to local budgets for the payment of monetary compensation for living quarters belonging to internally displaced persons, protected the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.” According to him, this will allow providing housing for 414 people in 2021, including 220 people at the expense of additional appropriations.
