Despite an increase in the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in June the epidemiological situation in Ukraine is stabilizing, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal said during a phone conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 6, according to the president’s press service.
“The statistics of the Health Ministry also demonstrate stabilization of the situation with the spread of coronavirus in Ukraine. The statistics on active cases and hospitalization, which has been almost the same in recent weeks, reflects this,” he said.
Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov said that the number of COVID-19 cases among medical workers has decreased. Currently, it is 6%.
“A decreased in the number of coronavirus-infected medical workers shows that all efforts of the government to protect medical workers on the front line were correct and brought results. I remember at the beginning of the epidemic medical workers accounted for a fifth part of all cases. Now, special attention should be paid to public places,” Zelensky said.
