The State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine asks the Cabinet of Ministers to revise the framework of the ban on entry for foreigners until the end of September.

“Such a ban will have an extremely negative impact not only on tourism, but also on the aviation and other industries,” head of the State Agency for Tourism Development Maryana Oleskiv wrote on her Facebook page.

According to her, a complete ban for foreigners to enter Ukraine could negatively affect the tourism industry, which has already suffered from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and has just begun to recover.

She noted that such a step also neutralizes positive changes and systematic work of state structures to liberalize and remove restrictions on visiting Ukraine.

“The State Tourism Development Agency receives numerous appeals from representatives of the tourism community, because this scenario is extremely unacceptable for the entire tourism market,” she added.

Oleskiv stressed that the Agency considers it expedient to cancel such measures, or at least mitigate them as much as possible, since, according to the agency, there has not been a single case of illness of foreign tourists in Ukraine in recent months.
