You're reading: State Service for Veterans: Over 329,000 fighters got status of ATO combatants

About 329,500 participants in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in eastern Ukraine have received the status of ATO combatants, the State Service for War Veterans and ATO Participants has reported.

“As of March 29, 2013, according to information received from departmental commissions on granting the status of participants in combat operations to persons who took part in conducting the anti-terrorist operation, the status of a participant in combat operations was granted to 329,488 persons,” the service said.

Among them are representatives of the Defense Ministry (222,259 people), the National Guard (32,003), the SBU (10,061), the Foreign Intelligence Service (38), the State Border Guard Service (18,800), in the State Special Transport Service (2,241), the State Guard Department (424), the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection (776), the State Emergency Service (4,592), the Prosecutor General’s Office (295), the National Police (4,685), and the State Fiscal Service (655).

In addition, 179 employees of enterprises and organizations were granted combatant status.

At the same time, 111 people have already been deprived of this status.
