BRUSSELS – NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has accused Russia of trying to destabilize the situation in Ukraine.

“I think this is just one example of the pattern that we have seen. Russia illegally annexed Crimea, then continued to destabilize [the situation], especially in Donbas, but also through its activities in the Azov Sea continues to try to destabilize Ukraine,” Stoltenberg said at a press conference on Oct. 3.

He said that NATO is very closely monitoring the situation in the Sea of Azov and is concerned about it.

According to him, NATO provides political and practical support to Ukraine.

Stoltenberg said that he considers the implementation of the Minsk agreements to be the only way to solve the crisis in Donbas.
