The suspect in the murder of seven people in the Zhytomyr region was imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to post a bail, the press service of Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) reports.

“By a resolution of the Koroliovsky District Court of the city of Zhytomyr of May 23, 2020, the suspect in the killing of seven people in Zhytomyr was imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to post a bail,” the official website of the PGO said on May 23 evening.

According to the investigation, on May 22, 2020, a conflict arose between a tenant of the pond and his acquaintances on the shore of a water reservoir near the village of Novoselytsia, Popelniansky district. During the conflict, the tenant of a pond mortally wounded seven people from a hunting rifle. Former members of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO), members of the National Guard and volunteers were among the killed.

The pretrial investigation in criminal proceedings is ongoing and is under the control of the PGO.
