Kyiv region’s Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky city-district court has released suspects in the 2018 assault on nationalist group Sich-C14 coordinator Serhiy Mazur, remanding them to 24/7 house arrest.

Kyiv region’s prosecutor’s office said criminal proceedings in the case started in October 2018 against three persons charged with attempted murder against Mazur are in progress. During the pretrial investigation of the suspects, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen and, accordingly, extended until May 2, 2019.

“The indictment in the said criminal proceedings on April 25 went to court with the petition of the prosecutor to elect a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to the accused … By order of Kyiv region’s Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky city-court, the suspects are remanded to round-the-clock house arrest with the use of electronic controls for two months,” the prosecutor’s office said.

As reported, assailants on October 10, 2018, threw a grenade into his flat near the town of Boryspil, Kyiv region. Mazur was away, but his father was seriously wounded in the attack.
