You're reading: Suspended ex-chief of Ukraine’s State Fiscal Service Nasirov to continue to wear electronic bracelet until March 19

Kyiv’s Shevchenkivsky District Court has extended the pre-trial preventive measure to suspended ex-chief of Ukraine’s State Fiscal Service (SFS) Roman Nasirov until March 19, under which he is obliged to wear electronic tracking bracelet and not to leave Kyiv region.

At a meeting on Jan.19, the court granted the request of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO).

A similar ruling was issued concerning department head of the State Fiscal Service Volodymyr Novikov.

Also at a court session, prosecutors continued to read out the indictment against Nasirov and his subordinate, which is 774 pages long.

Nasirov is under observation after he was charged on March 2 with abuse of power to benefit MP Oleksandr Onyschenko.

SAPO said that according to the final suspicion, Nasirov along with abuse of power and office (Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is also suspected of forgery in office (Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) committed when he made decisions to allow paying tax liabilities and debt in installments and when he informed the Finance Ministry of Ukraine that the agency does not have payments in installments expanding beyond one fiscal year. The permits to pay in installments were made to Nadra Geocenter LLC, Khas firm LLC and Karpatnadrainvest LLC.

On March 8, the Solomiansky District Court of Kyiv chose a measure of restraint for Nasirov in the form of arrest for 60 days with the possibility of posting Hr 100 million bail. On March 16, after his relatives posted the required amount, Nasirov left Kyiv’s pretrial detention center.
