Negotiations on arranging debates between Ukrainian presidential candidates Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Petro Poroshenko will start at the beginning of next week, Dmytro Razumkov, an adviser for Zelensky’s campaign staff, said on April 5.

“I am not part of the negotiating team, but, as far as I know, the negotiating process will begin at the start of next week. [Ukrainian National Public Broadcasting Company chief Zurab] Alasania should be given credit for assuming an absolutely constructive position. They said they stand ready to hold [the debates] anywhere, even on Mars. Let’s hope, after all, that it’s going to be not Mars but Olympiyskiy [Stadium],” Razumkov said on Radio NV on April 5.

Both Poroshenko and Zelenskiy had said earlier that they agreed to hold election debates at the Olympiyskiy Stadium in Kyiv, whose capacity is 70,000 spectators.
