The purchase of ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is now carried out directly from the manufacturer, Defense Minister of Ukraine Andriy Taran has said.
“We purchase 152mm, 122mm, 40mm, 30mm and AGS-17 [easel automatic grenade launcher] ammunition, not 120mm rounds. The media reported about this, because ruined schemes with intermediaries. The ammunition was purchased previously through two intermediaries in Ukraine, through Poland and Bulgaria. At the present time we have broken these schemes and are purchasing directly from the supplier, from the manufacturer,” Taran said.
He said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are equipped with 120 mm rounds, therefore purchases of them are not necessary.
The minister also said that the information about the presence of ammunition was announced by Commander of the Joint Forces, General Serhiy Naev, who told the reporters that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently provided with everything necessary in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) zone.
