As of today, the situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) infection has improved in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the number of patients has even declined, said Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran.

“Today we’ve managed to prevent the coronavirus from entering the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area, and this is the most important thing,” said Taran, answering journalists’ questions about the current situation and the course of treatment of Ukrainian soldiers suffering from COVID-19, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on May 5.

“Today, the situation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has improved. Previous positive tests for coronavirus infection of eight servicemen from Kharkiv have turned out to be false. Therefore, the total number of patients has even decreased,” the minister emphasized.

He also added that every day people are recovering from coronavirus disease.

“Most cases of this disease are associated with the fact that military personnel communicate with the civilian population, among which there are cases of the disease,” said Taran.
