Russian-sponsored militants killed three Ukrainian service members in Donbas on the weekend of Sept. 11-12
An anti-tank missile fired by the militants hit a Ukrainian truck in Donetsk Oblast on Sept. 12, killing driver Artur Golub.
Golub, 27, was a sailor with the 503rd Marine Battalion and came from Zhytomyr Oblast. Three other service members suffered shrapnel wounds in the blast and have been hospitalized in stable condition.
“Today, an enemy demon took the life of our brother, hitting the truck he was driving with an anti-tank guided missile in the truck he was driving,” the 503rd wrote in a Facebook statement.
A day earlier, an artillery attack killed 31-year-old Zaporizhia Oblast native Denys Herman of the 74th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion, the Zaporizhia local military authorities reported on Facebook.
Senior soldier Oleksiy Kulenko of Kirovohrad Oblast, who served with the 17th Motorized Infantry Battalion, was killed by shrapnel on the same day, according to Kirovohrad regional authorities.
Ten more service members were injured on Sept. 11.
Russian-sponsored militants have repeatedly violated the ongoing ceasefire since it was declared in July 2020. A total of 61 Ukrainian troops have been killed and over 150 have been wounded this year alone.
