Europe will never recognize the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation and will not give up sanctions against the Russian Federation, said President of the European Council Donald Tusk.

“I want to reiterate that Europe will never recognize the Russian annexation of Crimea, will not give up sanctions until the Russians fulfill their obligations. The European Union will not accept a single act of violence in the Sea of Azov. The European Union will continue to be united in this,” Tusk said, addressing the Ukrainian parliament during its special meeting on the fifth anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity in Kyiv on Feb. 19.

According to him, the European Union recognizes the European aspirations of Ukraine and welcomes its European choice.
