You're reading: TV, radio committee report almost 24 percent of state-owned, municipal printed media reformed

As of March 6, 2018, a total of 173 state-owned and municipal printed media had been reformed, or 23.76 percent of their total number, the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine has reported.

According to the committee, 173 publications have been re-registered during the reform of state-owned and municipal printed media. The leaders are Sumy region (50 percent of the total number of publications), Vinnytsia region (46 percent), Chernihiv region (46 percent) and Ternopil region (42 percent).

The slower process is recorded in Kyiv region (one out of 39 publications), Lviv region (two out of 42) and Poltava region (three out of 30). No publication out of 17 was reformed in Zakarpattia region.

As reported, in December 2016, the Verkhovna Rada passed a law on the reform of state-owned and municipal printed mass media.
