Two men were killed in an explosion at a dormitory in Kyiv’s Troeschyna district late on Nov. 17, according to the National Police of Ukraine.
The incident occurred approximately at 9 p.m. local time. The building’s residents called the police after hearing a blast.
Police explosives experts at the scene discovered that two people have had suffered fatal injuries. According to Kyiv police chief Andriy Kryshenko, the two were probably killed by a hand grenade explosion.
“The persons killed in the incident have been identified,” the police quoted Kryshenko as saying. “They worked in Kyiv, as a security guard and as a construction worker.”
The police did not release any names or explain the deadly incident’s circumstances.
Police are investigating the explosion as a possible case of intentional homicide.
