The Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Kyiv military garrison has sent indictments to the court against two officers of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine suspected of treason.
At the end of March 2014, head of the SBU department in Sevastopol Colonel Petro Zyma and a major from the same department illegally evaded from Ukrainian military service, deserted to the enemy and joined the so-called Security Service of Crimean Republic, the SBU press center reported on Friday.
“In addition, Colonel Zyma actively contributed to the Russian forces in the annexation of Crimea,” the report says.
The actions were preliminary qualified under Part 1 of Article 111 (treason) and Part 1 of Article 408 (desertion) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The SBU says that all traitors in Crimea will not escape justice and punishment.
