You're reading: Two soldiers wounded in 43 attacks on Ukrainian positions over past day

Russia-backed separatists in Donbas have fired 43 times on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas over the past 24 hours, including six times from heavy weapons, wounding two Ukrainian soldiers, the press center of the headquarters of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has said on its Facebook page.

“Russia-led separatists opened fire 43 times on the positions of our troops, including six times from weapons proscribed by the Minsk agreements […]Two soldiers of Ukraine were injured in fighting,” the report says.

Russia-backed separatists used grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms, and in some areas IFV weapons. The use of 120mm and 82mm mortars was also recorded.

Separatists fired on the soldiers of Krymske, Novozvanivka, Svitlodarsk, Luhanske, Novoluhansk, Mayorsk, Maryinka, Avdiyivka, Opytne, Pisky, Krasnohorivka, Novotroitske, Novomykhailivka, Kamianka, Chermalyk, Hnutove, Lebedynske, Pavlopil, Vodyane and Shyrokyne. They also fired from 120mm mortars near Svitlodarsk and Hnutove and from 82mm mortars near Krymske, Luhanske and Hnutove.

Small arms were used near Stanytsia Luhanska.

During the current day, separatists opened fire three times on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Svitlodorsk, Pavlopil and Vodiane.

“It should be noted that this night, for the first time in the last few months, the enemy used BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers. Rocket explosions were recorded at positions near Svitlodarsk. The enemy also opened fire on these positions from a 120mm mortar. There are no losses among the military of the Joint Forces during the current day,” the report says.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, two separatists were killed and three were injured.
