The United Kingdom will supply missile systems and military ships to Ukraine and will share relevant technologies with Ukrainian shipyards, Ukrainian Ambassador in London Vadym Prystaiko said.

“Four steps will be made to enhance the capacity of our Navy. They will be announced in the near future. I am sure that two active ships will be procured in the near future and will immediately join the Navy. The construction of two naval ports will begin, alongside the construction of ships of a lesser class in Ukraine and the UK,” Prystaiko said in an interview with the Dom TV channel on Oct. 16 evening.

The first military ship will be built for Ukraine in the UK, and construction technologies will be transferred to Ukrainian shipyards afterwards, he said. Ukraine will first receive minesweepers to protect its coastline, he said.

“Finally, and most importantly, we will receive missile systems that will tangibly enhance our capacities in the sea,” Prystaiko said.
