Ukraine’s State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting has banned the import of another 26 books from Russia.
“Centrproekt-Ukraine, Dress Show, Etniktrade, Force Ukraine, and Machaon-Ukraine have been denied by the committee permissions to import 26 books containing signs of propaganda from the aggressor state,” the committee said in a statement.
The decision was made after the committee’s experts, who analyze and assess printed matter, concluded that the books should be prohibited from distribution in Ukraine, the statement said.
These include several Soviet-era children’s books “infused with the Communist ideology and illustrated with its symbols,” modern publications for children and adolescents, which propagate the forces of the aggressor state or, disguised as children’s encyclopedias, spread “myths about Russia as a superpower” or popularize the Russian army and Russian weapons.
“The businesses also were denied permissions to import several detective stories by A.Maximov and D.Dontsova, modern novels by Anna and Sergei Litvinov, I.Osipov and A. Shevtsova, which contain propaganda of the forces of the aggressor state,” the committee said.
Currently there are 118 publications on the list.
